The LB4800 is built for the work it actually does best. Drying the driveway after washing the car. Clearing light debris between mows. Dusting light snow off a deck. Keeping the garage floor clean. It’s a grab-and-go tool for jobs that don’t justify dragging out a bigger blower.
Design and Build
The LB4800 runs a brushless motor with three speed settings and a Turbo button that pushes it to the full 480 CFM. Bare weight sits around 5 pounds, which makes it one of the easier handhelds to swing around for a quick pass at the porch or a rapid sweep of the patio. The housing is IPX4 weather-resistant, and the turbine fan design EGO uses has held up fine across a decade of storage and use.
The 56V ARC Lithium system means any EGO battery you own fits any EGO tool. That’s the real selling point if you’re already in the ecosystem. If you already have EGO packs from a mower, string trimmer, or chainsaw, the bare tool cost is all you need. Starting from zero means budgeting for a battery and charger on top, and OEM EGO packs aren’t cheap.

If you’re buying into the ecosystem fresh, a battery and charger can push the total into range of a new higher-CFM kit blower on sale. The math changes.
Turbo drains the battery noticeably faster. For bigger jobs you want at least two packs. The support strap is also sold separately. Not a dealbreaker for quick sessions, but worth knowing for longer cleanups.
Who Should Buy This
The LB4800 makes the most sense for a few specific buyers. Existing EGO owners who need a lightweight, quiet blower for quick jobs around the house. Small-yard and condo owners who prioritize noise and maneuverability over peak power. Anyone who wants a secondary blower to keep in rotation with a higher-CFM main unit. That’s exactly the pattern I’ve ended up with.
It’s less ideal as a first EGO purchase for someone with a large property who needs a primary blower. In that case, the higher-tier EGO models or a gas handheld will deliver more for the money.
Bottom Line
The EGO Power+ LB4800 has earned its place in the shed over a decade of real use. It’s not the strongest cordless blower EGO makes, and by 2025 standards it’s not even close to their peak power. But it does what it’s built for. Quiet, lightweight, grab-and-go cleanup for small properties. Better than a lot of newer, more expensive blowers at that one job.
