About ONYX/WILD

We’re the team behind ONYX/WILD. We review outdoor gear, solar setups, pet products, smart tech, and anything else that makes life off-grid or on a property a little less complicated.

We live what we cover. Between us that means chickens and goats on wooded acres in Northern California, 100 off-grid acres in the South running on solar we installed ourselves, and 10 acres on the West Coast where fire-season outages are just part of the year.

We don’t have a lab. We test gear on dirt roads, during power outages, on camping trips, and in daily homestead life. When we can get hands-on, we do. When we can’t, we say so and lean on research and what other owners have found.

The goal is simple: tell you what works, what doesn’t, and whether something is worth the money. No sponsored scores, no fluff. Just honest takes from people who use this stuff every day.
